A LIFE OF GOAL SETTING
Does this approach really work for a follower of Christ? Is it even wise when compared to Jesus's words in Luke 12: 22-34 and Matthew 6:19-34 and also in James 4:13-15.It didn't work for me. A while back, when God was awakening me to and walking me through some BROKEN DREAMS, I came to this realization. All the planning I was doing for my life and my wife and my children for the future, were in stark contrast to this advice. They all looked like Godly things also. Some of the things had happened, but like most goals accomplished, the pursuit for the next one would immediately begin. The result was me always living for something tomorrow and pursuing things that I really had no control over. When these goals are not accomplished several things can happen. We might come to the conclusion that we did it wrong or we didn't believe enough or we didn't work at it hard enough. We could also think God was holding out on us for all kinds of reasons. I'm sure I don't need to list all these. I'm sure you can come up with enough for yourself on that one.Today I just think this is another add on from the world, that God never intended for us to pick up. It's extra baggage and with Him having shared with me a good secret for the long, hard journey, that secret being, to travel light. I think I'm going with that.My goal is HOME.............I can trust Him to get me there.
