FREEDOM AWAITS THOSE WHO ARE NOT AFRAID

I was thinking about the sermon on the mount this morning. The sermon is one of those times Jesus is telling us to not be afraid. Our Father knows what we need and if he takes care of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field...won't he surely take care of us?

The sermon is so opposite to the way the world and our surrounding culture tells us we must do it and what it looks like. The world is about fear based conformity and the kingdom of heaven is about life and freedom held together by love. The kingdom of heaven is about redeeming people out of that fear based world of conformity.

These thoughts also made me think of a post from Willie's blog Wind Rumors, so I went there to re-read it.

One way of living ends up being colorless and rather dull.....which in the end just numbs us all and leaves us wanting. The other way of living is moving to something more wonderful then any of us can really fathom and it leaves us wanting nothing because we realize we have all we need in him. In that place we learn we don't need to demand anything from anyone and we begin to just enjoy each other. It feels so good to be experiencing some of that difference for the first time in my life.

I'm so glad you're experiencing all of this freedom :)

Mein Gott, you get up early. 5.30am??? The only time I ever see 5.30 is if I haven't gone to bed yet ... and that don't happen too often these days ;)

I'm filling up your blog with comments when I should just email you instead ... but I can't be bothered :)

I just have received Good Dog Bad Dog and I just KNOW I'm gonna love this album in the first verse :) Thanks for that.

I feel so good. Thanks for your prayers in my 2-month hell.

What a beautiful piece of heartache this has all turned out to be, was one of those lines that just took on such profound meaning to me last year. The quote in my profile About Me is from that recording also. And the song Etectera Whatever is one of my all time favorite songs. Their live recording of it on Live From Nowhere vol. 1 is IMHO one of the best live performances of all time. That one can only be purchased through Itunes now.

Me and a few friends are going to see them tonight. It is always great fun going to see them live.

Yeah, they look pretty good live from the few songs I've listened to on YouTube (gee, love that HAllelujah version :)

Have fun tonight, Kent!!!
