LIBERATED FROM......AND FREED UNTO

"We merely point out that absence of alternatives to "law and order, or anarchy" is precisely the enslavement of humanity to the "knowledge of good and evil" describe in the Bible. We are concerned in this essay to demonstrate that the Biblical narrative insists on a "third' way beyond law, beyond morality, beyond chaos."

This is taken from an essay that I have linked here. Matthew Patillo writes this using many of the writings of Rene Girard and Jacques Ellul to make his case. It is well worth the time. It's not that long.

Not that long?! I'll need to print and read later. My husband's been spending the weekend fixing a computer problem, so my time is limited.

It is funny, though, that we've blogged about the same thing today. I hear Twilight Zone music playing now.... :)

Tina, I have been reading some Ellul books online that are 100+ pages with two columns and small print. Now those are long. This ine is around 80 pages, one column and large print. But you have two small children and my three are much older. It makes a big difference. I have a lot of time to sit at this computer and read.

As I said, this is so worth the time to read and think about.
