CONTINUING OBSERVATIONS

These were the first news headlines I saw this morning:

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Democratic presidential rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama accused each other of repeatedly and deliberately distorting the truth for political gain Monday night in a highly personal, finger-wagging debate.

All I have to say is: IMAGINE THAT. It's just funny that while accusing the other they can't see that it applies to them also. I can't find one person running for elected office in our government that this doesn't apply to.

And as Americans we have had it drilled into us that to be "good" "responsible" Americans we have to participate in the political process by voting. I say....to be an honest person who desires better, how can I participate in this circus?

If honest representation is really important to us, I think the responsible course of action is to never vote for another politician who at best thinks, the ends justifies the means, or at worst, is just someone who doesn't care about the truth and is caught up in the trap created by the hunger for power and influence.

For myself, this will be the 2nd election that I will be sitting out of since I turned voting age. I cannot imagine participating again by voting if this is what I am offered as choices, unless I clearly hear within my spirit, that still small voice encouraging me to do so. I'M NOT HEARING THAT VOICE. I have found freedom from being manipulated by others using the "good citizen" argument. It's manipulative/controlling BS.

Kent, I thought I'd be voting this Saturday (the first time ever I would participate in a Democratic primary), but now I'm not sure. I saw those same headlines this morning and I'm just disgusted with the entire field. Instead of it being the first year I vote Democrat, it may be the first year that I don't vote. I'm not hearing that voice either.

Tina, just follow your conscience.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I think all politicians must be acutely aware of the discrepancy between their tattered idealism and the machine they're a part of. The discrepancy between the two must be cancer-causing. Yuk. :(

Sue, I was trying to be kind.

What would you have said if you were being unkind? I wanna hear that version hehe

Not really. That's me being naughty.

I feel for you guys being stuck with all this political stuff *again*. It's such a Matrix-ey thing, isn't it.

Sue, I really do feel more freedom from it all than I ever have before.

As long as we put our trust in these systems that man has created to bring order and structure through the use of power-over methodologies, harmony will always just be a unrealized promise and hope. These systems by the nature of power produce more of the same systemic problems and will continue to divide us into those who have power and those who long for it.

The religious system promises to provide for our spiritual needs.

The political system promises to provide us safety and security.

The economic system promises to provide for the necessities and comforts for life.

As far as I can see, to the degree we look to them for these things and continue to play their game, we will continue to be manipulated and controlled by them.

Yep, I agree dude. And it's good to watch you continuing this unfolding in your mind and heart and vision.

We just had an election here recently. It's good we had a change of government, but I don't hold out any hope for the political nor religious nor economic spheres (the 3 horsemen of the apocalypse :) to effect any lasting change.

Guess it's just up to Him, ain't it ;)

With you on this one too Kent.. I hate it that you have to be rich to be president. And I hate the mudslinging even more. There are no real choices...

Kent,

It's been years since I figured out I was a citizen of the Kingdom and an ambassador to the country where I reside and stopped voting.

Glad to have you back.

It's amazing what happens when fear begins to lose it's grip on us and the lies used to keep us in a place of fear begin to be seen for what they are.

The lies keep us doing things out of fear of what will happen if we stop doing it all.....I found out that it was all a farce. None of the things I was told would happen if I stopped jumping through the hoops happened. But one thing did happen...more places of freedom from the fear and the ridiculous voices that surround us began to open up.
