And my family is feeling the refiner's fire. All I care about is Father's purposes being work out by it all and one of the most powerful external controls to be tossed into the trash heap to never hold my family captive ever again. It's not a matter of if, anymore for me....it is a matter of when. This is going to happen and some more freedom awaits us all.
Chad, I have experienced so many radical reversals over the past two years and freedom from things that had always governed my life (emotionally and practically). When I say today that I am confident God is committed to working his purposes out I have no doubt that he will accomplish it. I never put expectations anymore on what it will end up looking and feeling like because what he has accomplished to this point has turned out to always be different than what I was thinking and so much better.
I never knew what freedom felt like before. It was just my scrambling attempts to hold it all together.
Yes Hi there Kent my friend ! Wow good pic, sure is lots of flames in it tho.. Freedom isn't freedom from something in a sense but freedom to embrace Him completely , I think - He sets us free so that we can be free in Him; love Him and live loved and accepted in Him, no matter what rages around us. AS long as we live in this old world, we will always live among many things that will either tempt us or drive us closer to Him. Appreciate your blog friend Ruth
Thanks Ruth. I really think there is freedom from....and freedom to. There are so many external things that control us unless we are being freed from them. Many things as you mentioned Ruth will always be a part of our surroundings, but the question becomes; Are they controlling us? Money comes to mind. I know only a few people that seem to be free with this (rich and poor) and yet I believe it is possible to live free from the tryanny it creates in most people's live. When money or_____ (fill in the blank) is governing our thoughts, emotions and actions we are not free "from" in any sense of the imagination....and in turn we are not free "to" live with Jesus as he has made a way for us to live in him.
When we are free we are free indeed and the chaos created by this fallen world and all it's attempts to control and distract us will no longer have the ability to do that.
