THE GIRLS ARE EXCITED

My two youngest and their cousin who is spending the week with them are excited because they just got a phone call from Ashleigh's dad asking them if they wanted to go on a spur of the moment road trip to the biggest rollercoaster park in the US tomorrow. Kids are funny and I love being around all their energy.

That is hilarious!! What kids have that we tend to lose is just an enthusiasm for life.

I happen to love roller coasters, and it's a crying shame that I used to live in western PA and never went to Cedar Point. What was I thinking?

These girls go super crazy when Ashleigh comes to stay with them. This is the first week and then in a few weeks she comes back for another week for the annual Kids Of Victory Summer Camp. The energy that week will be very very high.

Two nights ago Julie and myself were in the room next to where they were hanging out and they were hilarious and we were just listening and laughing. It was about 9:30 pm and Sammy, my youngest was just so cranked up so I went in to ask her want had gotten into her. Without even turning around to look at me and without saying anything she held up her Rock*Star Energy Drink can. I didn't need any other explaination.

Well I just got a phone call awhile ago....the girls and Farrell have arrived at a hotel somewhere near Cedar Point. The stage is set for a crazy day with each other and the rollercoasters tomorrow. More stories about this adventure to follow. I love these girls and watching them live and learn.

The girls and Farrell arrived home around 5am this morning. Hopefully they will have some new video to share.

Well, sadly this story ends because they didn't get any video or photos while at Cedar Point. They forgot the memory card. They were pretty jacked while telling some stories once they got up today after getting some sleep. I love spontanious road trips like they took.

A few summers ago we weren't planning on taking a vaction and they told me one day that they wanted to get ice cream from Wilson's, our favorite old fashion cream joint in Door County on Lake Michigan were we often vaction. I came home from work the next day and asked them if they wanted to go on a road trip to get ice cream at Wilson's...and so we drove 10 hours to get ice cream. We made it a weekend and stayed for three days and went to Wilson's about 5 times over those three days. I just love doing stuff like that with the kids.

Oh, rock on! That is just so cool, Kent. Driving 10 hours to get ice cream. If I was a teenager, that kind of thing would just spin my wheels in all different directions.

It does even now. Memo to self: go on an unscheduled road trip just for the hell of it ... or hte life of it, really :)

Glad they had a great time! :)
