Kent, This brought to mind an incident that has become part of our family lore, repeated nearly every time we're all together and reminiscing.
We were in our first house, when we had just our two older girls, and I had set up a swing set in the back yard. They'd play out there for hours at a time, swinging, sliding, etc. One day our older one, Rachel (about 4 or 5 at the time) came running in with our 2-year-old hot on her heals, yelling, "Anna kicked me in the eye!" We asked her to explain how that could have happened, and she described, "I was climbing up the slide behind her and she kicked me in the eye! LIke this...." ...And she proceeded to demonstrate by poking herself in the eye with her finger far harder that Anna possibly could have done, sending her into a new round of wailing at the insult added to injury!
It was a bit of a sight gag...hard to just describe... but it always sends us all into gales of laughter...
...well, maybe Rachel is still just a bit peeved after almost 20 years, but she's getting over it!
