Maybe you need to hear it? http://goyb.u2.com/ That's the Get On Your Boots single anyhow. Different, yes. Very U2 too. I've only listened to it twice now. Over the years I've found a pattern amongst how I hear new U2 songs. At first there is a part of the song (like the chorus) that I really like and latch onto immediately, but I haven't quite made sense of it as a whole song (if that makes sense). After about 4 listens it all seems to come together into a unified piece that can be heard in its brilliance. That is unlike Beatles songs which are often simple and easily come together the first listen. Actually, I've noticed some very Beatlesque sounding parts in both this song and their previous single, Window in the Sky (I love that song). Anyhow, nice chatting to another u2 fan :). What do you think?
when I received that fan club email to listen to it a few days ago, upon first listen the song didn't grab me much at all. The second listen was different....the third different even again. My experience with new music from them is very much like you describe.
After a couple listens I loved this song and am looking forward to hearing all of the new songs.
When I first read your previous reply, I must not have seen the words "yes I have and I like it". Duh. That line must have gotten cut off in the viewing window or something.
There is something of a mystery about their music. I'll have to listen to it again sometime. I'm looking forward to the rest too. :)

Great pictures!
Have you heard the new u2 single?
Yes I have and I like it.
I'm hoping for something really different. Kinda like what it felt like listening to Achtung Baby the first time and Zooropa and Pop.
