LEAVING A MARK

And on-line friend of mine posted this earlier today and I just wanted to share it. Thanks Linda.

Because if anything matters...everything matters

"Everyone of us leaves a HUGE mark upon this world. Sometimes that mark is recognized and critiqued or it is silently witnessed only by oneself. But, what we say and do leaves an indelible mark upon future generations. I look at my six children and I hear the words that I said to them while they were growing up falling from their lips to the ears of their own children. And, I have visual evidence of the marks that I have left upon them. I understand that I have created a chain of events that will influence countless other people when I leave my place upon this earth. And, sometimes the mark is one that I would like to change.. but I can't change. The marks that I left behind in my youth still sometimes have a unique way of showing up now and again in my present. And, they aren't so pretty. But, I can say the magical words "I'm sorry" or "forgive me" and hope that those marks fade away in time and within the circle of compassion and love."

Nice - and true and sobering.

Oh, if only more people had the courage to say "I'm sorry" and "forgive me". It covers over a multitude of sins
