My friend Linda posted this response on Facebook. I had posted it there this morning also. There's more of a conversation going on on Facebook it seems than here on my blog these days.

"Kent.. this is soooo true! I have been reading a book called The Four Things That Matter Most.. A Book About Living... By Ira Byock, M.D. He is a palliative care doctor for Hospice.
He recommends that his patients and their families say four special things to one another before they are parted. And, he also says that these four things can be said at anytime in one's life.. In fact they SHOULD be said often.

The four things are.. Do you forgive me? I forgive you. Thank-you. And, I love you.

So many of us carry around a ton of guilt and regret when a few simple words can start to put things right again. Ego and pride can be extremely harmful forces as well as extremely healing forces. Thanks for reminding me! Hugs"
